The monument has a trapezoidal plan formed by a curtain of tuff in which five cylindrical towers are inserted (of which four in piperno and one in tuff) resting on a base in which there are patrol paths. The courtyard area, which follows the Angevin one, is made up of Catalan elements such as the portico with lowered arches and the external piperno staircase, the work of the Majorcan architect Guglielmo Sagrera, which leads to the Hall of the Barons and gives this corner of the courtyard the characteristic appearance of Spanish patios.
